Opening Weekend for the Essex Base Ball Organization

After a long winter and a short preseason the Essex Base Ball Organization gets back to playing 19th century baseball this weekend, April 25th and 26th,  as both the Lynn Live Oaks and Essex Nine open up their 2009 seasons.  On Saturday the Live Oaks are matched up against the Melrose Pondfielders and on Sunday the NMVBBL champion Essex Nine face off against last year’s runners up the Fitchburg Rollstones.  Both days doubleheaders will begin at 12pm at Endicott Park in Danvers, MA.  Admission is free so bring a chair or blanket and enjoy baseball as it was played in 1861.  For more information contact Brian Sheehy at historyball@yahoo.com
