Sunday September 10th- Come join the Essex Base Ball Club as they return back to action Sunday September 10th against the Thames Base Ball Club of New London, CT. Two games will be played beginning at 1pm at Endicott Park in Danvers , MA . The teams will turn back the clocks and show fans how base ball (two words back then) was played for fun and amusement in 1861. Admission is free so bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the action. Sunday September 17th- Cornea Warren Field in Waltham , MA 1pm. Watch as the Essex Base Ball Club and Lynn Live Oaks square off in NEVBBL action. Two games will be played
Saturday September 23rd and Sunday September 24th – Essex National Heritage’s Trails and Sails Weekend
Come join the Essex Base Ball Club and the Lynn Live Oaks as they participate in the fifth annual Essex National Heritage Trails and Sails Weekend September 23rd and 24th at Endicott Park in Danvers, MA. Come watch two days of vintage 1860’s style baseball. On Saturday, September 24th at 1pm, the Lynn Live Oaks take on the Bristol Blues. Then, on Sunday September 24th, the Essex Base Ball Club takes on the Waterbury Connors at 12pm. Both days’ games will be double headers, so bring a chair and blanket and get ready to cheer on the home teams. Players will be available before, during, and after the games to answer questions and teach people about 1860’s baseball. On Saturday at 11am come learn some baseball history as Brian “Cappy” Sheehy gives a lecture on baseball as it was played in the 19th century. Admission is free, and donations are welcome. Sunday October 8th- Civil War Event at Endicott Park in Danvers , MA . Members of vintage base ball clubs from throughout New England will join together for a day of 1861 baseball action. There will also be a Civil War encampment. More details to come.
