Opening Weekend

Come join the Essex Base Ball Club and Lynn Live Oaks as they host a weekend of 19th century base ball action on April 26th and 27th at Endicott Park in Danvers, MA.  Watch the Live Oaks square off against the Dirigo Nine of August, ME on Saturday April 26th at 12pm, and then come back on Sunday to see the Essex Base Ball Club challenge the Melrose Pondfielders and the Fitchburg Rollstones in an action packed day of 1861 rules baseball.  The games on Sunday (there will be three) kick off at 11am.  Anyone interested in trying their hand at vintage base ball can participate in the games on Saturday.

April 20th

In gearing up for the upcoming season the Essex Base Ball Club and Lynn Live Oaks will have an open practice/ scrimmage at the Tenney Middle School in Methuen, MA on Sunday April 20th at 1pm.  All are welcome to come join us and try their hand at 19th century baseball.

 

Directions to the Tenney Middle School Field. 75 Pleasant St
93 North to exit #48
Take exit 3 off 213
go right off exit for about 3/4 of a mile and take a left on to Pleasant St (you will see signs for the high school and you will have passed the track)
take 2nd right on to Davis Rd. and the field at the Tenney is straight ahead.

 

We kick off the season with a weekend event April 26th and 27th at Endicott Park in Danvers, MA.  The Dirigo boys from Maine will come down on Saturday to face the Live Oaks and the Fitchburg Rollstones will play their inaugural set of games against our old friends the Melrose Pondfielders and the Essex Nine on Sunday.   Check back soon for a the newest edition of the newsletter.
