The first annual Father’s Day Weekend Baseball, Beer, and BBQ was a great success. On Saturday prior to the dinner Cappy, Monkey, and Pat Cook traveled up to Hampton Academy in Hampton, NH to help them celebrate its 200th anniversary by doing a demo and playing students and faculty from the school. We had a great time and hope to go back there next season.
Later that night the folks at Spencer Peirce Little Farm and Mercury Brewing hosted our first beer and baseball dinner. The night was well attended with close to 100 people enjoying Tennessee BBQ, fine beers from Mercury Brewing, and a lecture on beer and baseball from Cappy. The night went great and all enjoyed their time and look forward to trying it again. We would like to thank the farm and the Brewers for hosting such a great event.
Sunday we were back at the farm for a triple header of 1861 base ball action. Members of the Essex Base Ball Club, Lynn Live Oaks, Ipswich Brewers, Bristol Blues, and NH Granite combined to play the games in extreme heat and thunderstorms. Despite the conditions a fine series of matches were played. See the attached news story from the NewburyportNews
For the weekend and our new connection with the fine gentlemen at Ipswich Ale we create tee shirts showing the connection between baseball and beer. Tee shirts are $15 and can be purchased at our games or contact Cappy at firstname.lastname@example.org
Come join the Essex Base Ball Organization for a fun filled weekend. Reserve your tickets now as they will sell out soon.
