The Essex Base Ball Club traveled to beautiful Cornish Maine this past weekend to meet up with their friends the Dirigo BBC at the Cornish Trotting Park. The games were sponsored by the Cornish Historical Society and were well attended by cranks. In game one Essex was in a nail bitter exchanging the lead several times before finally hanging on to a 16-11 victory. In the second game after some strong hitting by the Essex Club they were able to sail away with an 11-5 victory. In all of our years of going to Maine the Cornish Trotting Park is quite honestly the best venue we have seen in Maine and look forward to going back there for a larger tournament next season. We would also like to thank the Dirigo BBC for two great games.
Join us Saturday August 8th for Fiber Revival at Spencer Peirce Little Farm as the Newburyport Clamdiggers square off against the Lynn Live Oaks at 11am. We would also like to wish members of the Portsmouth Rockinghams luck as they travel to Rochester NY to play in the annual Silverball Base Ball Tournament.
