Saturday August 10th the Essex Base Ball Club will be taking on the Elkton Eclipse of MD at Spencer Peirce Little Farm. Elkton is one of the premier teams in the country so the game promises to be a tough one for Essex. After losing a tough one last year to them in MD Essex has had this game circled on their schedule all year. The day begins at 12pm with Elkton playing the Mudville Base Ball Club, followed by the Essex vs. Elkton matchup. The day is part of Fiber Revival at the farm and after the game members of the Essex and Elkton Nines will head to Woodmans in Essex for some fresh lobsters. Admission to the game is $6 for adult and $4 for kids.

The Rockinghams sweep the Clamdiggers in two of the closest games of the year on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in front of 100+ cranks. Game 1 saw the Rockinghams erase a 4 run deficit in the bottom of the ninth to win in walk off fashion on a ball well struck over the centerfielders head. Final score was 11-10. In Game 2, the Clamdiggers erased a 2 run deficit in the bottom of the 9th to push the game into extra innings. The Rockinghams scored in the top of the 10th and were able to close out the sweep. Final score was 8-7. The day was bitter sweet as Rockinghams team captain Dave Leopardi is moving to Nebraska this week
