Another Split

The Essex Nine matched up this past Saturday against the Melrose Pondfielders in two well played games of 1861 rules.  The first game saw the Essex squad march out to a commanding lead and never look back taking the game 10-2.  The second game was a defensive gem with both side making play after play but the boys from Melrose were able to score 2 while the home town boys only tallied 1.  The Essex bats were silent due to the masterful pitching of Gaps Harlow who has a knack for making batters swing and pop out.  The Essex guys would like to thank the Pondfielders for the games and we look forward to seeing them soon.

 Next Game

Sunday May 17th Essex @. Fitchburg 1pm in Devens, MA
