The Essex Base Ball Club played four games this weekend winning all of them. On Saturday they matched up against the Cornish Game Hens for a split 1861 and 1886 game at the Lawrence Sons of Italy. Both games were close but Essex held on for the victories. All played well and a good time was had by all. We would like to thank the Cornish Game Hens for making the trip up and to the Lawrence Sons of Italy for letting us use the field.
On Sunday Essex squared off in NEVBBL action against their sister club the Lynn Live Oaks as part of Historic Waltham Days at Cornea Warren Field in Waltham, MA. Essex club swept the day behind their heavy duty offense and tight defense. Essex improved their league record to 8-2 and look forward to finishing off league play against the always tough Waterbury Connors.
