Jan’s Pitch for Breast Cancer and the Arts was a huge success in 2013, raising over $6,000 for the Susan G Komen foundation and the art students at the Arlington School in Lawrence, MA.
We are looking forward to doing the event again in 2014 on October 18th at Spencer Peirce Little Farm in Newbury, MA.
The Jan’s Pitch Game is to honor Janice Sheehy who passed away in April 2013 after a 3 year battle with breast cancer. She spent 25 years teaching art in Lawrence, MA so doing this game and giving funds to help these kids and battle breast cancer is really important to us.
Obviously we would like to continue the success of the first year so Id like to invite all vintage base ball players or teams to participate. Last year we just mixed and matched teams but we are open to full teams, half teams, or just players taking part in the 2014 event.
As always Im sure Ipswich Ale will be there and good times will be had. If teams or people are interested in being part of this event let me know and Ill keep you posted as this event develops.
