Lynn Sweeps/ Essex Splits

The Lynn Live Oaks squared off for the 2nd time this season against the always dangerous Melrose Pondfielders this past Saturday on the beautiful meadow at Endicott Park.  The games were close but the Oaks were able to hold off the Pondfielders to take both games on the day.  The first game was a back and forth affair with the Oaks pulling out the victory 15 to 14 in 10 innings, the second game saw the Oaks take the game 13-10.

On Sunday the Essex Nine traveled to Devens, MA to take on the Fitchburg Rollstones.  Without a full complement of Essex players they were still able to split the day with the Rollstones, dropping the first game 13-5 but taking the second 10-1.  The second game was a mystery because after putting up 10 runs in the first inning the Essex Nine failed to put up another run but thankfully Bill “The Undertaker” Gendall was on the mound to shut down the Fitchburg offensive.
